Saturday, a friend, Nicole and I hit the South Street Seaport for some free cinema. They were showing Steven Spielberg’s Close Encounters of the Third Kind, a movie about aliens and ufo’s. I don’t think it was his best work, but I enjoyed spending an evening outside, with good company near the water. Most of the food stalls and such were closed by the time the movie was over, so I plan to go back during the day sometime to check out the market.
The view of the Brooklyn Bridge from the port was superb. And it was absolutely gorgeous how the lights of the city glittered the water. Nicole and I hung out on the top observation deck looking out over the river and the cool beer garden below.
The night was awesome and I had a lot of fun. If you are in New York City and have a free Saturday night during the summer, head to the South Street Seaport and catch a movie. Unless you mind the possibility of a little Jack Russel Terrier sniffing around you as you watch.
