Thoughts of a New Semester

“I wonder how many times I’ve used the phrase: “settling into the swing of things” in conversation.”

“Can I get coffee, go to the bathroom, and make it across campus before my next class begins in ten minutes?”

“Once upon a time I woke up in the morning and I didn’t have to get out of bed.”

“If I’m taking two PEs do I really need to go to the gym as well?”

“When do I get to eat lunch today?”

“Do I sit where I sat last time in class? Or do I switch it up before the seating becomes cemented and unchangeable upon pain of very severe silent judgement?”

“I’ve never seen that person before. Have they really been going to Gordon this entire time?”

“Should I audition for the spring play?”

“Veronica, don’t you dare add anything more to your schedule, you’ll be drowning in homework soon.”

Oh the truth in that sentence…
